Production Carpenter:

We are seeking a full-time experienced carpenter. Must have excellent all-around construction skills, own your own tools and be detail oriented. Previous carpentry experience required along with a valid driver’s license. Must be able to frame/finish work, drywall, and paint. Competitive pay with benefits provided. Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. At least 1 year of carpentry/construction experience
  3. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. To report to work on time. Depending if the job is in town or out of town will determine what time you need to report to work. That will be left up to the Project Manager
  2. To follow through with every assignment. If something is assigned to them, that they’re not sure about being able to do efficiently, they need to go to the Project Manager, which assigned them the task, and seek guidance
  3. Make sure they have the required list of tools that is mandatory by Swartz Contracting & Emergency Services
  4. Help take care of all company tools and any other tools that the Production Carpenter uses (Any tool that is mistreated, the cost to repair or replace could be deducted from check)
  5. As a Swartz Contracting and Emergency Services Employee, it is your job to always promote a professional appearance and attitude on all job sites
  6. A Production Carpenter’s job is having the ability to do multiple things. Framing, drywall, painting, and finish carpentry. Production Carpenter may or may not be the best in these areas, but they need to have the ability to grow in areas that they are weak
  7. Everyone is responsible to hold each other accountable and promote teamwork throughout the company
  8. The Production Carpenter is required to be in the weekly “On Call” rotation schedule. A $50 bonus will be paid for any call after 5 pm weekly. On weekends, an automatic $50 will be paid for the first emergency call and $25 for every call after

 

Construction Project Manager:

Seeking a full-time Project Manager. We require you to have a sales or construction background, computer and communication skills, a valid driver’s license, be able to pass a drug test and be an authorized U.S. worker. This is a salary position that comes with great benefits and competitive pay. Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. AA Carpentry/Construction Management
  3. 5 years experience can substitute for some educational achievement
  4. Proficient technical skills, experience, and certification in the areas of service the company provides
  5. Adequate math skills. Must be able to quickly and effectively translate remaining work into manpower planning, project completion times, and review and assess labor time reporting. Effectively project job costs based on work remaining
  6. Demonstrates intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of computers and computer software, including MS Word and Excel. Experience with Xactimate software is a plus
  7. Effective in receiving feedback and input from customers and employees, probing for additional information or unspoken issues and providing a timely response
  8. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Manages project timeline, phases, and milestones; evaluates the percentage of completion vs. project schedule and makes adjustments if necessary
  2. Coordinates with sub-contractors
  3. Communicates with Operations Manager regarding change orders, wants/needs, concerns and complaints
  4. Assist Operations Manager in ordering special mater (long lead-time) to level of spending authority
  5. Coordinates inspectors to avoid delays
  6. Plans and coordinates material planning for field work to avoid delays
  7. Responsible for safety management of fieldwork. Enforces all safety rules
  8. Responsible and accountable for job: safety, quality, cost/profitability and productivity of field crew personnel
  9. Ensures that all equipment and tools are well maintained and safe
  10. Trains and/or reprimands field personnel
  11. Assist Operations Manager with meeting the budgeted profitability targets. Analyzes variance reports and develops actions plans to control costs
  12. Before/During/After pictures are a must on every job (including requiring/retrieving photos from Subcontractors)
  13. Keep vehicles clean and in running shape. Vehicle repairs or regular maintenance is to be reported to the Production Manager. Oil changes should be done every 9,000 miles
  14. Paperwork properly filled out and turned in at the end of every job, including satisfaction statements and pictures
  15. The Project Manager’s position requires handling and properly accounting for paperwork related to a job. The Project Manager is directly responsible for job paperwork. Needs to be turned into the Operations Manager
